TORNADOES

TORNADOES

I had always wanted to see a tornado with my own eyes. I wanted to witness nature's power. I wanted to feel the strangely low atmospheric pressure build in my ears while a funnel cloud dropped right in front of me. I wanted to hold a baseball-sized chunk of hail in my hands and feel my heart rate rise with each clap of thunder. I wanted to hear the ferocious winds howl in my ears while the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. I signed up for a tornado chase so I could witness these ferocious beasts first-hand and that's exactly what I got. The biggest of the tour, an F4, dropped right in front of us, passing only a quarter of a mile in front of us. I could hear the roar as the wind was sucked into the funnel at my feet.
