With each explosion, you can feel the ground shake as a shockwave punches through your gut. The pressure releases as hissing gasses push outward like the sound of a jet engine. Streaks of lava explode and ooze down from all sides. Volcanoes are one of nature's oldest systems. They make and destroy land and were here long before life existed on this planet. They're beautiful and intimidating and I’m kind of obsessed with witnessing and photographing these spectacular enigmas.
