What Is Office & Lifestyle Photography?
Office and lifestyle photography is authentic visual storytelling about your company, your team, your workspace, your culture, and the way you actually work. It is the difference between imagery that feels real and imagery that feels like stock photos. Josh's photojournalism background means he can move through any environment and return with images that genuinely represent who you are, without disrupting the workday or asking anyone to pose awkwardly.
Where These Images Get Used
- Company website: About pages, team pages, values sections, and homepage hero imagery
- Recruitment & talent marketing: career pages, LinkedIn Life pages, "Why work here" campaigns, and job posting imagery that attracts the right candidates
- Investor & executive materials: pitch decks, board presentations, annual reports, and investor relations pages
- Press & editorial coverage: media kits, press releases, and feature articles about your company and leadership
- Internal communications: company newsletters, Slack workspaces, and culture documents
- Social media: LinkedIn company page, Instagram, and other platforms where authentic workplace imagery outperforms stock
The Approach
A typical office lifestyle session runs 4 to 8 hours depending on your team size and the environments to be covered. Josh begins with a 30-minute walkthrough to understand your space and workflow, then moves through the office capturing genuine moments, collaboration at whiteboards, focused individual work, informal team interactions, without staging or interrupting. The goal is imagery your employees will actually recognize as their real workplace.
Pricing
Half-day office lifestyle sessions start at from $2,000. Full-day sessions covering multiple spaces, teams, or locations start at $4,000. Contact Josh to discuss your company's specific needs and get a quote.
Industries We Serve
Josh has created office lifestyle content for technology companies, AI and machine learning firms, biotech and healthcare organizations, financial services companies, law firms, universities, and nonprofits throughout the Bay Area and nationally. His client list includes Salesforce, Google, Amazon, Meta, and AppLovin, alongside dozens of venture-backed startups and fast-growing mid-market companies.
I'm Josh Edelson, a San Francisco lifestyle office photographer who shoots the way your company actually works, not the way stock photos pretend it does. Teams at Google, Amazon, Salesforce, Meta, Stanford and UCSF book me for office culture photography that ends up on their careers pages, press kits and about pages. After 15 plus years shooting for AFP with work published in the New York Times, TIME, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, I bring a photojournalist's eye to corporate lifestyle work: real moments, clean light, no stiff posing.
What Corporate Lifestyle Photography Covers
Office lifestyle photography is everything a headshot isn't. It's your engineers at the whiteboard, your sales team on a real call, the founder walking the floor, the dog under the standing desk. Companies use these images for careers pages, LinkedIn company profiles, investor decks, PR and recruiting campaigns. I shoot candid work sessions, staged-but-natural collaboration scenes, environmental portraits of leadership in their actual workspace, and detail shots of your office and product. Every set is delivered ready for web, print and press use, with full commercial licensing.
Startup and Enterprise Offices Across San Francisco
I photograph offices from SoMa and Mission Bay startups to enterprise campuses in the Financial District, South Park, Jackson Square and down the Peninsula. I've shot inside some of the most locked-down corporate environments in the Bay Area, so badge access, NDAs and security escorts are routine for me. Based in Novato, I cover the whole Bay Area, and I travel nationwide for multi-office brands that want a consistent look across locations.
How a Shoot Works
Three steps. First, a short call where we walk through your space, your people and where the photos will live, then I send a simple shot list. Second, shoot day: I work fast and low-key so your team keeps working, usually covering 15 to 25 people and 4 to 6 scenes in a half day. Third, delivery: a curated, fully edited gallery, typically within five business days, with rush delivery available. Half days run $2,000 and full days $4,000, and that's flat, with licensing included.
Why Companies Hire Me for This
I've photographed Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and AWS CEO Matt Garman, which means your executives are in experienced hands and your comms team gets images that hold up next to wire-service work. My photography has won the Istanbul Photo Awards First Prize and the AFP Varenne Canon Grand Prix, and it has been exhibited at Visa pour l'Image. Clients have left me 43 Google reviews, all five stars, plus around 56 more on Yelp. That track record is what your marketing team is actually buying.
