An estimate for a single image. Final pricing depends on the exact use. For news and editorial images, I can license a comparable outtake directly, see below.
Commercial and corporate images
The corporate, headshot, and event photography on this site is available to license for commercial, editorial, and print use. Tell me which image you want and how you plan to use it, and I will send terms and pricing.
Editorial and news images
Much of my photojournalism runs through wire agencies such as AFP and Getty, which hold the rights to the frames that were published. But I shoot far more than what runs, and I keep my outtakes. For most news and editorial work I can license a comparable image from the same assignment directly to you.
What licensing costs
Every license is priced by how you use the image, not by file size. Editorial and news use starts at 0 for a single image. Commercial use starts at 0. From there, placement, reach, and how long you need it set the final figure. Here are real example quotes for a single image. The estimator above gives you an exact number in seconds.
| Use | Example scenario | Estimated license |
|---|---|---|
| Editorial | Website, local, up to 1 year | 0 |
| Editorial | Website, national, up to 1 year | 5 |
| Editorial | Print, national, up to 1 year | 0 |
| Commercial | Website, national, up to 1 year | How to license,125 |
| Commercial | Print, national, up to 3 years | ,075 |
| Commercial | National ad campaign, up to 1 year | ,800 |
Worldwide and perpetual commercial buyouts run higher, into the ,000 range. An exclusive license, where I agree not to license the image to anyone else, roughly doubles the fee. Every rate is set about 20 percent below the major stock agencies because you license direct.
How to license
Use the estimator above for a ballpark, then reach out through the contact page with the image URL or a screenshot, plus a short note on how you would like to use it: resolution, placement, and how long. I will get back to you with availability and a firm quote.
Licensing is on a per-use basis. I retain copyright on all images unless otherwise agreed in writing.
