Anyon Computing at SF Tech Week: Quantum Panels on a Ship on the Embarcadero

Anyon Computing hired me to cover their SF Tech Week event, “Quantum in the next AI Supercomputer,” co-hosted with NVIDIA and Wistron. The venue was the top deck of a ship docked on the San Francisco Embarcadero, with the Bay Bridge off the stern. The brief was general event coverage, and I added a drone to put the whole evening in context: this happened in San Francisco, on the water, and the pictures should say so.

Three panels on deck as the light changed

The program ran three panel sessions on how quantum computing scales alongside AI supercomputing, with speakers from NVIDIA, Wistron, Western Digital, Deloitte, Prosperity7 Ventures, ESnet and Q-CTRL. The first panel started in daylight, the last one finished with the Bay Bridge lights behind the speakers. That progression is the story of the event, and the coverage follows it: the same deck, the same chairs, three different skies.

Hardware, product and people

Anyon brought its quantum hardware to the deck, so the library includes clean product frames of the processor mounts and control electronics alongside the display where guests gathered. The rest of the night was conversation: founders, researchers and investors on a rooftop deck with cocktails and the city behind them. Those candid frames are what the comms team uses first.

Why bring a drone to an evening event

A ground-level reception in San Francisco can look like a reception anywhere. Two aerial frames at the start, one in the afternoon and one at dusk, fix the place: the ship, the pier, the bridge, the skyline. I am FAA Part 107 certified and plan the airspace in advance, so the aerials take a few minutes and never interrupt the program. If your event has a setting worth showing, see aerial and drone photography, and for the rest of the night, San Francisco corporate event photography. Half days from $2,000, full days from $3,500. Frequently asked questions

Can you add drone coverage to a corporate event in San Francisco?

Yes. Josh is FAA Part 107 certified and handles the airspace authorization for San Francisco in advance, so a few aerial frames of the venue and skyline can be added to standard event coverage without interrupting the program.

Do you photograph SF Tech Week and conference side events?

Yes. Josh covers panels, receptions, launches and side events across San Francisco during SF Tech Week, Dreamforce and other conference weeks, with same-night selects available when the team needs to post while the event is still live.
