Apollo hired me for several events across one week in San Francisco this fall. One of them was this: a private Tae Bo session on the Embarcadero, led by Billy Blanks himself, for the Apollo staff in town for the week. Not every company can say its offsite included the man who invented the workout.
Two events at the same time
A week of events for one client means some of them overlap. When that happened, I assigned one of my associate photographers to this session and covered the other one myself. Same brief, same shot list, same edit, same delivery. The client got one point of contact and one consistent library, and nobody had to choose which event got the photographer.
That is the model: I do not turn down the second event, and I do not send someone unbriefed. The people I work with have shot alongside me for years, and the edit runs through me, so the result looks like my work because it is.
Shooting a workout like a news event
Rincon Park at mid-morning is hard light, moving people and a background that changes every few steps: Cupid’s Span, the Bay Bridge, the Ferry Building clock tower, the Financial District. The frames that work are the ones that treat it like an assignment rather than a class: the instructor mid-kick with the bridge lined up behind him, the wide of the whole group with the skyline, the selfie, the socks. Energy first, then a clean group photo before everyone scatters.
Booking a week of events
If your company has a conference week, a road show or several events on the same day, see photography production for multi-event programs and San Francisco corporate event photography, or get in touch for a quote. Half days from $2,000, full days from $3,500.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if two of our events are at the same time?
Both get covered. Josh assigns an associate photographer he has worked with for years to one of them, both work from the same shot list, and every frame goes through the same edit and delivery, so the two libraries match.
Can you cover a full week of events for one company?
Yes. Josh regularly covers multi-day and multi-event programs for a single client in San Francisco, with one point of contact, one invoice and one consistent set of images across every event.
